Stardew Valley coming to mobile

Hello everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a great summer and are enjoying this transition to the cooler weather of fall.

Today, I’ve got some exciting news to share with everyone – Stardew Valley is coming to mobile, and it’s actually releasing on the iOS App Store in just over 2 weeks time, on October 24th!

The mobile port is being developed by London-based mobile development studio, The Secret Police, who have been working closely with me for about a year. Chucklefish has been handling the business and marketing side of things. While the game will launch first on the iOS App Store, The Secret Police are currently working on finishing up the Android version, and I hope to give you more news about an exact launch date soon.

  • Supports iPhone and iPad gaming, just make sure to check on the App Store page whether the game is compatible with your iOS version
  • It’s the full game, not a cut down version, and plays almost identically to all other versions. The main difference is that it has been rebuilt for touch-screen gameplay on iOS (new UI, menu systems and controls)
  • £7.99 / $7.99 / 8,99 € with no in-app purchases
  • Includes 1.3 single player content, such as the Night Market, but not Multiplayer
  • PC players can transfer their save data to the iOS version via iTunes – but make sure to always back up your save data first! Mods are not supported, and any save data transferred containing mods may cause compatibility issues.

Pre-orders are available today

I want to be sure it is clear that the development of the mobile port has had no impact on the development of the console Multiplayer ports, as they are being worked on by two entirely separate teams/companies. Console multiplayer is making great progress and I have every intention to release it as quickly as possible. For a quick update on where it’s at, the Switch Multiplayer update is coming along well, and has now gone into QA (quality assurance testing). Xbox One and PS4 Multiplayer updates will follow (all being done by Sickhead Games). I promise to keep you all updated on any news I get regarding release time frames for all the consoles. I really appreciate everyone’s patience.

That’s all for now!

This is just best videogames-related news i read in year or two. Thanks a lot!

  • Cody Bury

Any planned game-pad support for these mobile versions or is it purely touch controlled?

  • Danno

Will the mobile version eventually have multiplayer?

    • Kimberly Davila

It does say it will not be in the game, but I do get your message. And I’m also have a prediction that someday it will get multiplayer soon. So, let’s hope for the best in the future.

  • elizabeth

    This is excellent news.
Also: Anyone else bothered by the fact that the first image shows a cask outside? Unless… can I put casks outside now?

    • A_racham

They can be placed outside, but only work in the cellar

    • I see no casks. Only the jars and barrel. But as the other there said, you can place them outside, they just don’t do anything.

  • Calvin H.

Will ps vita get the v.1.3 content? (Without Multiplayer, of course).

  • A_racham

Stated in this post by CA:

“The Secret Police are currently working on finishing up the Android version, and I hope to give you more news about an exact launch date soon.”

  • Chichi 4L

I plan to play with a JXD Android tablet/gamepad, so I hope there is gamepad support.

  • TheRaven81

Does this mean there’s hope for 3DS too now?

    • Leah Bahr

Why would they when it’s on the Switch? I know the 3DS would be awesome but I don’t see it.

  • GreatWizard

Hey – please expose the save folder to the “files” app. It’s literally adding 1 string to the info.plist file, especially if you already support iTunes sync, so I assume the app’s document folder is clean and has only save data etc, and not some cache stuff that might confuse users. (iOS dev here)

when can we get chinese version on ios?

  • REALITYCheque

I will pay nearly any amount if the android version has controller support.

Please, please, please consider adding it.

And also: thanks for making this on mobile, I’ve hoped for it since I first bought the game on PC back at launch.

  • Anfronie

Glad to see it is coming to Android!!!!!!!!

  • Alex Gildert
  • Amzf

What about saving or stopping play in the middle of an ingame day?

  • amoral familism

Later and badly version as usual. Android devices is not for gaming btw.

    • Doby Gillis

You’ve obviously never used one, you ignorant git.

    • Wyatt bob

Why the fuck do Apple users think they are so elite? All modern-day phones are almost identical and have small to no hardware gaps. Yet Apple has this huge bandwagon appeal, yet all that’s different is the U.I.

  • TheMysteriousFox

Holy cow, a mobile version!? I did NOT see that coming. And you can use your PC save too?!? How do you put your PC save on a mobile device through iTunes?

    • supra

      c l o u d solution allows you to do that

  • Leah Bahr

Will android allow you to transfer your games? Also, this is unexpectedly awesome!

    • Wyatt bob

You can transfer your saves in different more complicated means (Pastebin, Etc) but it will be more streamlined for IOS users.

    • travisboone

did you even read the post?

“The Secret Police are currently working on finishing up the Android version, and I hope to give you more news about an exact launch date soon.”

      • Yuna Marie (Bubbles_the_destro

All I saw was the iOS coming the 24th I didn’t see android when it comes out

  • Alexander Hoffmann

I thought about getting the Switch version to play on the go but I don’t want to start over again after having played it on the PC. Now I’ll wait for the android version 😀

  • Robbie Baquiran

I second the controller support!! Please port that over to both iOS and Android. Touch screen is great, but sometimes its nice to have the option of setting the tablet down. The 12.9″ iPad Pro will break my arms if I play as long on it as I did the PC version!

  • Christian Beach

Well this is certainly a surprise.

I’m also really glad the Switch multiplayer is coming along well. That’s the version I have, and I’ve been trying to get my brother to get the game on his Switch so we can play together when multiplayer comes out on it.

  • Marco Mogliani

Sorry if I ask this again, but will the Switch multiplayer version be couch-coop on a single device (split screen-like) or it requires two consoles?

  • Aaron

When is going to be for android?

    • Wyatt bob

It does not have a confirmed release date yet. And as an android user, I hope it comes sooner than later.

  • Rohan Nagpal

what about multiplayer for mobile(iOS) ?

    • Wyatt bob

Multiplayer won’t exist (as of now) for mobile on both platforms.

  • Lovely313

Will multiplayer mode ever happened on mobile?

  • Oxygen X

Will the mobile version eventually support mods later?

  • – James –

so what will the requirements for running it be for both android and ios? im not asking for the exact ones but what i should expect
